Depending on its origin it is plausible. We had a crazy little snow storm out here on Friday that snarled stuff up.
I have a speedo gear replaced in the transfer case. Accurate mph so accurate mpg.
V8 is just for fun. Not practical by any means. But a fun project.
Did you change your axle gears yet?

Nope. Don't care about the power side. It's fine now. I just want to do something fun and different
Re: Jeep Stuff
Yea but that power or lack there of due to your taller gear set will kill your mpg especially in the city. Get the proper gears and you should be back around 18mpg or so.

Re: Jeep Stuff
Not touching gears until I do lockers and axle shafts. Have a couple of other upgrades I need to do first. Skids and some fender trimming first.

Debating on buying another xj with all the parts I want, swap them, then sell it.
Re: Jeep Stuff
Or just buy the XJ of your dreams and sell this one. Sounds like its only given you the fits.

Re: Jeep Stuff
In all honesty I'm probably not going to do much else to it. Going to fix the exhaust and trim the front fenders and call it good for now. Will keep and eye out for skids on sale but that's it for awhile. Rather put money on a 3rd vehicle once I get a job.

Give it 2 days until you post about doing a modification or upgrading to fix an issue.

That is what was inside my cat.
Plus every time you tilt it the insides shift and slide front and back.

? It was between my cat and muffler. Plus everything inside the cat is loose and shifting around a lot.

Have a high flow flowmaster cat waiting for me to put in. Just removed the old one last night. Putting in new one today.

Re: Jeep Stuff
God I wish I could weld.
Exhaust is in but there is a leak where the downpipe meets the cat. Even with one of those supplied clamps it leaks. Ordered one of those band clamps off amazon for $6 to see if that helps.
Eventually I will get it welded up, but in the meantime, it will have to do.

Exhaust definitely has a deeper rumble now. A lot aggressive sound with the new cat.

Re: Jeep Stuff
Ran calculations. Cost for gears and installation, not including lockers, would run me about the same amount of money that I would save over 60k miles of driving if I get 18 mpg over my current numbers.
