Duel batteries

Post by DCIV »

So when I owned my 2000 blazer. Two thing were constant problems. The fuel pump and the alternator. The avalanche has a spot for a 2nd battery. I would like to add the second battery, let the alternator charge it but have it be separate from the main battery. Then if my alternator dies be able to flip a switch and get to where I can fix it.

I think I need a isolator to charge. But how do I make it so I can run off said battery when need be.

Old thread but at least you get an idea.
