NA vs FI
Honest opinions. Do you think the current trend in the automotive market for using smaller engines with turbos is better or worse than keeping them larger but naturally aspirated?

Improved efficiencies is a good thing. Everyone driving around with 460ci engines isn’t a good thing. Turbos are great because they engage as needed and aren’t always spooled up. Downside is they make the engine more complex are prone to early failure and their designed systems are more costly.
I like the newer trends of technology that has made engines smaller, more efficient, and producing more power per cubic inch or liter. It’s a win on all levels.

I dunno it seems like Ford believes in both depending on the need. For smaller cars and SUV's turbo and direct injection, but the new 7.3L gas engine is supposed to be more efficient and reliable in heavy duty applications :d ontknow:

Yeah I think this sums it up. It depends on the application.
People want power and torque, but also want good mileage. Easiest way to do that is to go forced induction. Power when you need it, but when it's not needed, engine is "behaving" like an NA motor. Plus the variable valve timing etc can also let you do what is best for the motor under specific circumstances.

Hard to argue against economy/conservation (note the word, Libs) of any type, these days.
