Found the original paperwork for the Jeep. We bought it in 04/08 with 101,439 miles on it for $5000.
Now at 140,5XX miles. So in 11 year, 3 months, we put on 39,000 miles.

So just to get it right, the Jeep is here car, but you're going to have to drive it if you sell the Volt, while she drives the newer/nicer Kia?

Jeep is "hers" but over the years we have taken turns driving it. It is hers in terms of she paid for it, it is in her name, and she has a say in what happens to it, but we both use it and it has been modified to fit both our wants. It is "our" Jeep.

It is held in place with a strap tied down to the spare tire holder and a 2x4 behind it to keep it off the window. Also can't lock the back seat seat back in place.

I did too, but the electrics were causing too many problems. If I would have gotten a 97-04 instead of the 06 I probably would still have it. The changes they made to the oil pump, electrics, etc caused one headache after another. Don't regret selling it one bit.

Back in the garage. Not for any big reason. The rear axle snubbers fell off. Just fell off. Was mowing the grass and saw them sitting on the ground. They rusted off. Went to take the bolts off and they just snapped with barely a little turn. Going to have to drill them out or just put the new snubbers in right next to them.
Also going to finally cut out the rust in the rear panel and install a temporary shield until I can get someone to weld in something more permanent. Bought a piece of galvanized metal that I am going to rivet and rtv seal over the hole to keep dirt/water from getting up into the body more and paint it with underbody paint/sealer. Just temp thing until I can do it right.
Other than that, still going well. Just got it DEQ'd and it passed.

Still haven't touched it since pulled in the garage. Hoping Sunday will finally have the time.
Trying to figure out how I want to handle the rear panel thing. Guess first step will be to cut out the rust and see how much of the panel is actually left. Would like to do something similar to this - http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/pages.php?pageid=12 - but not so high up so I can still install the bumper end cap back on. Then fill in the gaps with the piece of galvanized sheet metal I bought and paint it with engine enamel paint or my chassis saver.

Didn't do nearly as much as I wanted yesterday. Ended up just enjoying a lazy sunday laying around and playing video games.
Did remove the old snubber bases - and all 4 bolts broke - so going to remove the rear wheels and drill in the new ones. Could do it without removing the wheels but will give me more access since I am tired of laying on my back.
Also did at least cut out most of the rust on the passenger side.
Did not and will not cut out the rust on the drivers side rocker yet. It extends from the back of the rocker all the way up to under the drivers side door so going to wait to cut that out until I can install the rails. Hoping before winter.

Been browsing craigslist and facebook looking for some skids. Apparently I think the ZJ ones will fit with little modification.
After that I will start saving up for a few more things.
Roof rack - wife wants one
Rails - can be done cheap, just need to find the time really
Lockers - not sure yet but thinking maybe just some lunch box lockers, would like selectable, but ugh - $ - ideally would put in all new axles, probably dana 60s, but with as little off-roading as this see not really worth the money at this point.
Axle shafts - might upgrade or at least pick up some spares
After that I will start saving up for a few more things.
