Widest tire

Can’t quite find the answer searching google and I would like to figure out the widest tire I could put on my wife’s edge. What do people use to figure this out? Just trial and error? Is there a measuring device?

But I would like to get a little taller, little wider tire if possible.

It’s an 8.5” wide rim based on the 245 width. I wouldn’t go over 265 in width. And I don’t know hoe much taller you can go before you hit the spring perch on the strut.

With a 60 aspect ratio it's probably a 7.5

Edit: they are 18x8

I know it’s a very small amount of gain but wider spreads out the vehicle and we wear out our front right tires quickly because of the driveway. Doesn’t matter if you rotate them, they still wear out quicker. Wider I am hoping helps, along with a little (and yes very little) ground clearance and cruising.
