Sure there is. Just not in his price range!

Re: Analysis Paralysis
It's still a lot of money for a 90k vehicle, and I'd prefer it was the Land Cruiser instead of the Lexus. Unfortunately they sold basically half the number of Land Cruisers as they did the LX570.

But that is the market now. Low gas prices = expensive suv and truck.

Yeah saw a few of them up there on New Year's Eve when we were in Reno/Sparks.
Re: Analysis Paralysis
I am not out of touch, I just refuse to spend that much money on a 90k vehicle.
If you're using the computer readout for your mpg feel free to ignore it. My explorer shows 15.3 and gets about 13.5 in the winter. My Infiniti shows 19.8 and averages 17.8
I checked with the ST this morning, just to see. Readout said 27.3mpg, I put 4.74 gallons in, and went 130.0 miles, so I got 27.4mpg. Not too far off, less than 0.5%. I'll take it!

Re: Analysis Paralysis
Went test driving cars today....
In order I drove them:
1. 2012 Audi A4 Quattro Wagon. I went to go look at something else entirely but it wasn't in good shape, so I drove this instead. This A4 was in amazing condition, and I love how these A4 wagons looks
but I know it's probably a terrible idea. I like the price. https://www.auburntoyota.com/inventory/ ... lxca092097
2. Nissan Frontier Pro-4X, well equipped, but you know it's an old design. The Bilsteins really make it drive a good deal better than the lower level trim I last drove. I bought it home for my wife to see, and we test fit an infant car seat and it's pretty tight. It's close enough you might not be able to use the front passenger seat. I get why everyone drives tanks now even if they only have one kid
https://www.enterprisecarsales.com/list ... seville-CA
3. 2018 4Runner SR5, didn't really like it all that much. Super floaty suspension, and unresponsive throttle. Really expensive for what you get. Drove it after the Frontier, but before bringing it home for Jen to see. https://www.enterprisecarsales.com/list ... seville-CA
4. Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, not interested this particular one as it's too new and expensive. It was however the closest equipment level to the 2015 at another CarMax that's in our price range. It's the most car like of the truck/SUV's we looked at. Jen liked it but also has concerns about reliability. https://www.carmax.com/car/16424847
5. 2007 GX470. Most happy with the price of this one,but it had a few issues, rear air springs were leaking as the compressor ran more often than it should have. Also had the sun roof rattle I've read about on these. Not really worth what they want for it unless they fix everything. https://www.carmax.com/car/16709188
5. 2011 LX570. It's expensive and kinda high miles, but it drives so amazingly. Feels like it's new, but has a couple of good sized dents. I think I'd prefer to have a Land Cruiser instead of the Lexus. https://roseville.bmwofroseville.com/ve ... x1b4082491

Re: Analysis Paralysis
You are 100% right on the 1 child and tank. My passenger seat up front is not comfortable because of the seat behind it.
The enterprise link didnt take me to any vehicle.
The wife really wanted a 4Runner and we went and drove them. She has never drove anything but a car at that point. Its on a truck chassis and I was relieved when she didnt like it. What a high priced vehicle.

Re: Analysis Paralysis
Child seats arent small, then you start thinking of cushion space should you get in an accident. Didnt see any ram trucks tested above...hmm.

Re: Analysis Paralysis
Child seats should be in the middle. Especially infant seats.
I had no problems with a rear facing seat in my Suzuki swift.

Not sure why the Enterprise links don't work. I double checked them and there isn't any other link I can provide.

Just not a huge Chevy/GMC truck fan. My dad had a 2007 Yukon which is basically the same as the Tahoes I'd look at. I wasn't a huge fan of it then :d ontknow: If I can find one equipped and priced in my price range I'll stop by today and look at it. Wow these are expensive

Not sure I really want a full sized truck. I know I can get used to it, but I prefer smaller vehicles. Like the Tahoe I might see if I can find one to look at today. A bit more miles than I'd like but not a bad price https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... /overview/

We tried both locations, and could make it work in either location. The real issue becomes when/if we have #2.

Re: Analysis Paralysis
Most do not put them in the middle as its hard enough to hold a kid out and drop them in their seat let alone buckle them in and if you the one driving the middle makes it harder to get to them.
Source: car seat tech at the fire hall works at my station he has installed 100s of car seats. Only a few want it in the middle even after explaining why.
