4G in a 3S!

Re: 4G in a 3S!
Whats funny is how I get labeled a 6g hater. Ive probably tuned as many 6gs as anyone in the last couple years. Ray was even messaging me about sending people my way.
Few comments...
-Wideband is an average. Bank to bank is not uncommon on any engine and I saw very similar on my 6g.
-Check your plugs. You may need to trim by cyl. Also not uncommon and the nice thing about having a stand-alone. Even better is individual EGT and trim using that data. But good ole spark plugs work too
-low z and deleted resistor? Did you mean high z?
Good suggestions - I'll try to take a look at the plugs to see what's up there.
No, low-z and deleted resistor, so the AEM is driving them as Peak/Hold for more precise control, especially at lower pulsewidths (per the AEM instructions).

Re: 4G in a 3S!
Okay. Just making sure. Ive run low z with AEM peak hold drivers on 1000cc also. We tried it for nomies 1650s but those injectors are just garbage period. Replaced them with the new High z and good to go.
Re: 4G in a 3S!
I came here for fun. Isnt that what this little forum is for? You guys had 30pages of it. You even got a thread split for your commentary so not all of it is even here. (Id prefer to keep all of your BS in one place personally.)
Of course a lighter car is faster. Wow.
Yes its currently slow...I havent dialed in the setup yet. Converter is way too tight for the power Im making (need to loosen or add power), Im stubbornly trying to do non-intercooled with e85, Im barely leaving the line purposefully, no sense blowing up axles when sorting through other new build issues. A 4link and 9 would be better too. Of course. So would a 427 and twin big turbos. So would an aluminum big block with big twins. Always someone faster. I am enjoying my car. Drove it to Shootout. Drove it to LS fest. I also enjoyed it 4Gswapped and made a quick, by 3000GT standards, car at a fraction of the price of others in the realm.
I had a VS racing 80mm. It was junk. He replaced it once already. Im moving on. They have worked great for others and some impressive results which is why I grabbed one. And I have several friends running mid 8s with junk yard engines. Again, not telling me anything new.
Is Nelsons car a Montero in a lighter body? If so, then I agree the 4Gs shouldnt be on the list also. Matt Monet disagreed. Regardless, we are out having fun with our 3000s. 4g, 6g whatever.
Never got that t-shirt.

Re: 4G in a 3S!
I didnt gloat at all about 1320. Why would I? 11.0 on vid and a 10.9 not on vid. Long weekend for me with my car with a camera in my face after every pass and a go pro in my car watching me go slow. Thats not my idea of fun or gloating. But I did have a lot of fun hanging out with friends and my wife and kiddos. Kids even got a taste of Mexico and loved it. Either father of the year, or worst, havent decdied yet.
Some shit talking was happening elsewhere and it reminded me of this corner of the web. So figured I would stir the pot for fun. Thought you would enjoy as well. What do I have to gloat about recently? Maybe I missed something that I can gloat about.
I love your education on cheap engines. Thanks. Not like I havent played with 4Gs for the last few years or rocking up to 20psi so far on my gen3 5.3. You keep repeating over and over how much faster if it would be if it were light. Well no shit. I pointed out many other ways it could also be faster. And a 408 or 427 (tall deck duh) would hold more than a 5.3. So would a big block. So would straight methanol make more power. So would nitro. So would any number of things. Seems pretty logical to me. So you were right that a a car weighing a 1000lbs more than a DSM went slower? Nostradamus in your family tree?
And no one has to kiss my ass over anything. I never expected anyone to really care about my swap. Boy was I wrong. You are more butthurt than anyone about a platform you ditched a long time ago, for a more cost effective platform (your own commentary). Hmmm. Pot meet kettle. I only ditched the engine not the whole car. My heap is still on the road. Few more scratches on the OEM paint still on a majority of the car, but still rocking pop ups and OEM fogs.

Re: 4G in a 3S!
If Jeff gave me shit elsewhere I wouldnt know. I cant keep up with everyones aliases. I dont see any ill will towards me here currently or me towards anyone either. Thats certainly not my intent.
Middle finger was in jest. Come on you cant see that? Youve never flipped off a buddy before? You told me to eat a bag of dicks previously and Im still in here playing nice. Now you call my car a heap, me a bitch and a cuck. I think Ive been pleasant through all the shit talking.
Once again, not teaching me anything new on Tuning. Im open to learning but just not seeing anything from you yet. NO INTERCOOLER. I already said Im being stubborn. Have a ProMeth kit delivering this week with volute injection nozzles for the turbo.

Re: 4G in a 3S!
Main reason, I have a small tucked radiator that I like the space and look. Its keeping the engine cool with idle, cruise, autox etc. Concerned that a FMIC will trade one problem for another
Secondary, I like the look of the hotpipe. Its simple.
Third, like I already said, always something faster. If all I cared about was drag racing, Id build a fox body if it was prepped and a DSM or 4Gswapped if it was truly unprepped surfaces. Gutted. Drag only mods. I dont think the 3S record is overly difficult to achieve if thats what I cared about also. My car at 3300lbs ran 9.6s at 37psi. Ive run up to 43 plus a 100shot on top, or 50psi straight boost. have logs from my horsing around on both that are significantly quicker than 9.6 logs. Gut the car and start cutting, not a stretch at all without adding more power than I already had. Just not what I cared about. Like we both said before, its still not even that quick by todays standards so id Personally rather run low 9s with a stock looking 3S exterior and interior than mid 8 tin can. Garrett thinks the opposite and why his car is quicker.
Im not building for anything other than myself. Despite what you think or try to project on me.
Current mods have an eye towards a cross country road trip with some buddys and our heaps. PWM of fuel pumps. Improving little things here and there. Going to send a Speed sing al to mrs power steering pump to tame it at speed. Still need to get the front speed sensor working. (Back is) so I can set up traction control. Already have a trim pot wires for traction so I can make it more aggressive if I get caught in the rain or less if I want some wheel speed. Also think Ive found a small HVAC unit that will fit. Thats this winters project I believe.

March right? Doubt it. But you never know.
