Is that the one you have a bunch of mods on?

Not sure if I'm excited or not.

C'mon. This should ignite your "Paralysis". I never really had a decent truck until about 8 years ago and now "get it". Doesn't need to be flashy, lifted, loaded with options, but today's quad cab trucks with ~400hp, and decent suspension are a no brainer.

Yeah I get what you are saying, trucks from about 2010 forward really are amazing. My issue is will I actually enjoy driving it around. Part of my reasoning for wanting to get rid of the Exploder was because I missed the way my old spec.B drove. It was a car that was comfortable to drive, could hold its own on back roads and had enough power to really have fun in.
A truck would basically do everything the Exploder could better, except hauling more than 5 people around. However the reality is I rarely needed to load up the Explorer with anything that really taxed it. A truck would be overkill for what little I ‘needed’ the Explorer for.

I drive mine everywhere. You get used to it. I would recommend back up camera and possibly the rear detect sensors. Those make it easy.
If you can do without the luxurious center console then you would gain a 6th seat. Pretty overkill for any situation you would get into. Bed is nice for throwing daily crap and groceries in.
My wife also feels much safer in the truck compared to a smaller vehicle. People tend to look out for you more. You sit higher with a better view of traffic around.
It’s up to you but I doubt you will regret the decision.

Yeah I'm sure I'd get used to it in the same way I got used to it with the Explorer. It doesn't mean its necessary. My wife feels plenty safe in our Outback, and it has higher safety ratings than the similar year F150. I know I'd probably be happier with it than I was with the Explorer. I'm still worried about giving up the capabilities of the Explorer, which is why I've been unable to pull the trigger on a sporty car again.

I was honestly kind of hoping they'd fix it as I still am not sure what I want to replace it with. Now I don't have a choice.

Re: 2007 Ford Explorer
I've actually considered getting an 09-10 V8 Explorer, which is what I originally wanted when I was shopping this one.
