Pipe dream car.

Post by DCIV »

By this I mean a car that is actually affordable to you one day, a car you dream about owning, and just can’t.

Mine is some form of the dodge supercharged family, a Nissan GT-R, or Dodge Viper. All very available, coming down in price, and I will own one!

I never thought I'd have a C7. At least not before they were over 10 years old.

For the first time I can remember, I don't look at other cars and think "I wish I had that instead".

This just might be my summit.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I'd have to currently go with a 12+ R35.

Something attainable right now if I were to sell the fleet would be a c6z

ZR1.. Although lately the thoughts of 911 Turbos pop into my head occasionally.. But neither will happen due to lifestyle requirements.

New or old nsx? As I feel the new ones will be unattainable for a good while unless your loaded!

The VR-4 was my attainable dream car for years. Now my attainable dream cars trigger thoughts like "oh that'd be awesome, but it's a terrible idea." See my other thread for a few examples lol.

I understand. As I’m trying to get a new daily driver I always said I wanted one that I didn’t hate. I have never enjoyed my daily drivers, always wished I was in one of the toys. I want one that, not neglecting my toys, I want to drive around. This isn’t just isn’t out there. So I settle for dreaming.

All somewhat attainable at 40-60k

I dunno. I think Mike got on the 996 train at just the right time. I get the feeling those might start going back up.

Give the AMG another year or two. It'll be 12k at a buy here pay here lot

We have two Cayennes here now. A 2012 and a 2016. The only difference between them is color and about 20 grand

I like the pop ups, but not the first year or two. Like the kinks ironed out.

Mid-engine C8. Or more attainable - a GT-R that I can mod up...

Always been more of a built not bought kind of guy but as silly as it sounds, the ND Miata was that car. Maybe my standards are too low but it really does check all the boxes and it’s a car I have no desire to modify.
2020 Miata Club - BBS package
2020 GMC Sierra Elevation Duramax
2014 Exomotive Exocet - #101 "shocker yellow" - sold :(

99 Solano Black VR4 - #16 of 287 - ground up restoration - sold :(

I get it. That's how I feel about the Corvette. It's just so good as it sits, I don't want to screw it up. I'm going to do the GM stage 2 aero stuff and call it done.
