Tool box organizer

As a house warming and bday gift from my parents I got a really nice tool box. I want to set it up correctly. I have been playing on amazon looking at organizers constantly trying to find something that works.

Does anyone have anything they use that they like?

I wish I did. My father in law gave me this 5 ft tall Stanley Vidmar cabinet that was being tossed out from the AA overhaul base. It's really nice and solid, but it's not meant to be a toolbox. I think I might replace it next year.

I basically just make sure my sockets are all tied down to a holder and everything else just sits in its spot. Make sure you line the drawers if they didn't come with lining.

The craftsman one just is a slim piece of plastic that holds it....yes it will organize it but people complain about it being cheap.

Found another one that held the bolts and the wrenches, looked perfect. Reviews said it wouldn't fit husky boxes (what mine is) and then the sockets sit on round spots and complain about how the sockets move and dont really do a good job.

Like....dangit, why can't there be something nice!

Depending on your drawer size harbor freight actually has some pretty good drawer organizers. I also used their plastic stand up socket organizer. Works great.

Foam organizers with cutouts for each tool. That way you know exactly which tools aren't in their spot.

Those are amazing, but my tools are kind of a mishmash of brands so I'm not sure how well it would work for me.

You can get blank foam pads and then you just trace your tools with a sharpie and use a router to carve out the foam.

Do they make one of those forms to hold the 47 SAE sockets you don't need, and a face in place of the one metric socket you do need, that's missing?

I store all those SAE sockets in a special round metal container which also holds random refuse. I've heard a grouch lives in there sometimes.

OK, I don't really - but I should. It would really clean up my toolbox.

I only had sae for my old mopars but I don’t even touch those anymore.
