Post by DCIV »

Alright I am open to suggestions on how to bore out my 18 spline to make it 25 spline.

Take it to a machine shop? I can't think of any way to jig it securely enough to make sure the hole stays centered and precise.

I was afraid you would say that. I knew thats what came up when I searched but I was hoping someone would have an easyer more home way of doing it. I wonder how much just a bellhousing cost?

You just need to find someone to give you the diameter of the hole, not the diameter of the seal

I got that a while ago. So I do have it.

See if you have one. What about all the shimming stuff they say to keep the original bellhousing?

I have a trans I might just part out, and that would have a welded and unwelded 25spline bellhousing.

is the welded just from it breaking or was it to make it stronger? I am calling around today trying to find out some prices because the main thing that bothers me is when ppl say dont change bellhousing and shims. But I might just end up with a 25 spline bellhousing anyways. Thanks for all the help so far guys, Josh let me know please.
