Another Problem, Serious this time??

After finally fixing my fuel and power steering leaks fixed I thought to myself, OK after WAY to long I can finally drive my Stealth.....WRONG!! I started it up and it seemed to be running fine until it started smoking, I immediately shut it off to prevent any damage. The smoke smelt more like burning metal instead of oil or something similiar. The smoke was coming from the front and rear exhaust manifolds. My gauges in the center of the dash aren't working either. I think it may be my oil pump but I'm not sure. I'm still mechanically a 3/S newb for the most part and if anyone could point me in the right direction to get this fixed and whether or not I have toasted my motor

Give more detail on what you fixed. Because the smoke could just be from power steering fluid getting on the downpipe. You want to see how things can go bad go read my vss replacement thread.

If it helps any, once I shut the car off it sounded like coolant or something fell out of the bottom but nothing did and it sounded like something was boiling

Shooting blind here but maybe air trapped in a line. It would make a liquid sound once the system came to rest and air trapped in a fluid system will cause it to boil rapidly rather than just get hot.

Evil is right, boiling noise isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's normal for the cooling system if there is some air in the lines somewhere.

Where your center gauges working before? It's pretty simple to hook up a temporary oil pressure guage if you're wondering if you're having a problem there.

Otherwise there aren't enough details in your post to really point a finger at anything other-than some fluid burning off of the exhaust. Did the engine rev freely?

The gauges were working before, and It tries to die at idle and has a hesitation when revving

I would start by checking the filter, MAS (plug) then check the vac lines and make sure they are all connected. IAC connection, y-pipe, spark plug wires...

Well, you should check fuses/connections for the dash lights.

If you touched the manifolds with your oily hands, then the smoke is just the oils burning off. Not to fear as it does go away after a short time.

I wouldn't even bother checking the dash, unless you were working in there too. You probably disconnected the oil pressure sender, which is right next to the PS pump. Coolant and boost guages aren't going to move at a cold start, so it just looks like all three were dead.

Where is the smoke coming from? I agree with the assessment of everyone else - if it is smoke in the engine bay, you are burning off some fluid that dripped on the downpipe. Its probably PS fluid in the rear.

As for the stalling - pressure test your intake. You probably have a vacuum leak somewhere.

I checked all my connections and they are fine, If it is just oily residue burning off would it have a metallic smell. This smelt more like metal than anything.

No, burning oil does not smell metallic. If I had to guess I'd say you are burning power steering fluid off of your downpipe.

I think I may just be overreacting to it all (I hope so) I'll go through and check everything again and thanks to all of you for your help

Heavy weight gear oil smelled metallic when burning off of my heat shield on the turbo. Also coolant has a similar smell if I remember, damn near every fluid will have a metal smell when burning off of metal but oils smell more oily. It just depends on the heat. I personally would let it run for 10 minutes or so. When I started my car last night we had smoke everywhere... I knew it would happen though I got a ton of fluids all over and even in the DP.
