Car Trivia....

Post by Terry »

The local car club around here is having a car show this weekend and wants to do some car trivia. I've got the task of coming up with the questions. Anyone have any good ones? Any car question will work...hard enough where everyone and thier mom wouldn't know but not too hard to the point of no-one getting it.

Q) Who invented the first true automobile? (Maybe a little too non-specific)
A) Karl Friedrich Benz (1844-1929)

Shit - I'd just google a bunch of questions. :)

Write down all the acronyms you can think of...
Stick them in randomly depending on where you are in range of questions.

AWD, FWD, DOHC would be in the easy range
TPS, SRS, CAS medium
FAAC, ETACS more difficult

I think people sometimes get confused hearing the letters read outloud rather than reading them with their own eyes.

Fun quiz, I thought a 3S quiz done in game show format would have been fun at the NG...

Boy, could I really mess people up with acronyms... :D i can list off at least 100 different ones JUST for modules that can be in a vehicle, many of which overlap each other (TBC = BCM = BFC, RCDLR = RFA, ABS = EBCM = EBTCM, ECU = ECM = VCM* = PCM* etc).

Exactly...that's why adding acronyms to the quiz would be fun and challenging. :) Maybe you can come up with a good list for Terry.
How many strokes does a normal piston-cylinder engine have?

How is the octane rating of fuel determined?

What does the dual weight rating of oil mean?

Is Vin Diesel gay?
and then you could have daily doubles!

which cycles are combined from a 4 stroke engine in a 2 stroke engine?

what does the rating E 85 mean? (perhaps this is too easy)

which number(s) should you increase, if any, when your engine is running hotter than usual?

Is Vin Diesel currently pursuing Ian McKellen's heart?

I've got a decent list started but it's mostly history and classic cars. Give me some good import car questions...with answers.
