Alright, that does it. I'm coming up this weekend to reinstall that BOV silencer.

If you tighten it too much, the car will surge under really low boost.
Yes, the BOV silencer is the culprit. Need I give you the "airwall" speech again?
If you could post it, that would be great.

Oh, and did Eric tell you he got nailed by the CHP? Has to go to a smog ref now - Yeah for Cali! :rolleyes:

Haven't talked to Eric in a while. Maybe I'll drunk dial him sometime.

The plastic Y shaped piece inside the rubber intake splitter isn't there to make the BOV quieter (so the name "BOV silencer" is actually incorrect), it's actually there to direct the air vented from the BOV into the intake tubes instead of shooting it straight up into the intake.

See, what happens without that piece is, the air rushing out of the BOV every time it opens actually "blocks" the air the turbos are sucking in for a brief moment. Hence the term "airwall".

The MAS can only count air rushing thru it. Airwalls disrupt that and mess up the ECU thus you get the stumbling.

I'm going to add this to the Basics thread.

WTF IS A MAF?!?!?

edit;

Noticed your running multiple things off the same vac nipples. I have discovered that it is best to run the BOV, FPR, and EBC all off seperate vac sources off the plenum.

MAF = MAS.

Same difference.

Typically you'll see Speed Density MAS refereed to as MAFs. IE Corvette & Ford MAFs

Ryan...

Please tell me you don't have your BOV hooked up to the y-pipe. If so, you're gonna need new turbos soon.

I was referring to hooking up the BOV vac line to the y-pipe.

Think about it. There's no vacuum before the throttle body.
