Track results...Some Questions
Well I took my TT up to the dragstrip tonight, and Im rather disappointed. . It was my first time dragging, Ive never even launched it before tonight. Made 4 passes, here are the results:
R/T 60' 1/4 MPH
.195 2.324 14.276 96.92
.425 2.225 14.202 100.84 <-- best 1/4
.707 2.317 14.538 96.69
.657 2.552 14.646 101.44 <-- best MPH
Now, my 60's are pretty high, I know that. My reaction time was pretty bad, and the first and third times I bogged pretty bad, and the last the lights totally got me off guard. But all those considered, does everything look right? I think the times are pretty slow with my mods (see sig), I was hoping to get into the mid 13's.
I was in the middle of the field. A lot of hondas, the ricers ran 15.5+, there were a few done up right though that were 13.5ers. There was also a 80s Station wagon that looked like shit but ran a good 11.9
Another question...I want to install my 550cc injectors along with my high flow fuel pump and safc and turn up the boost to 15psi...How can I expect the stock clutch to react? Id do it at the same time but Im going to the track next fri. and dont have the time to devote to putting in the clutch. If i launch it the stock clutch wont blow to hell, will it?
Im just looking for some input on my times and everything. Ill post vids tomorrow or so if theres interest.

Re: Track results...Some Questions
You would be running mid 13's if you didn't pussy foot it off the line haha. I would guess at 10 psi you would be running around 13.2's to 13.5's if you can cut a 1.6-1.8 60'.
How old is the stock clutch? I ran one in my yellow stealth when it had 15G's on it and I was running 18 psi without it slipping. I could easily cut 1.8 60's on a stock clutch.

I can't be sure on the mileage thats on it, as the car went through a rebuild by one of the previous owners. But to be safe Id say it has 90k on it. It still grabs great though.

Re: Track results...Some Questions
My first ever trip to the track got even worse results. I believe I got a 15.2. All because I took the revs up to about 3000 RPM's as I had just gotten my t-case rebuilt after sheering the OS. Raise the revs and quickly slip the clutch. Don't even worry about reax time.

Tach it up to 6K when you launch. You don't have enough HP to get decent times with those 60fts.
Reaction times play absolutely no role in your final time. The clock starts when you start moving. My RTs aren't the greatest either.

I think a 6000 RPM launch is too high for someone new, and with a stock clutch. Baby steps huh music man?

Baby steps? Pft... My first trip to the track, I was taching 7K.
The only way you're going to get any decent times out of a TD04 car is to bring your 60 and 330ft times as far down as you can. This is all driver skill.

STOCK CLUTCH will struggle with 6K launches, let alone a 7k dump.

I know that
I definitely wont be dumping the clutch at high revs next time, I just installed my injectors, SAFC2 and the fuel pump.

Well derr!
So lower the RPM's and it gets better. Find a nice middle ground so as NOT to lose to much boost and bog, but also not burn the clutch out and slip it.

My only point is you shouldn't go the track with a stock clutch expecting good results.

Re: Track results...Some Questions
I dumped my stock clutch a few times.... mmmm the smell of a slipping burning clutch. After I broke in my stage 2 with over a thousand miles I slipped that bad boy, scared the shit out of me. I thought the car got up to begin with but DAMN. Have only done that once since just to get across a road in high traffic.

Re: Track results...Some Questions
With my stocker, I had to wait atleast half an hour - fourty five minutes in between runs so she'd cool down. If I ever tried to back up straight after a run, I would get bad slippage.
