If you somehow figured out how to build a vehicle that ran on common tap water, and emitted no pollutants, you'd be the richest man on earth.

Bonus riches if you figure out how to make it run on unprocessed sea water.

If you're really serious about this, I suggest you build a working prototype, engage the services of a patent lawyer, and patent every aspect of this thing.

Until then, I'm going to call myself extremely skeptical of your miracle H2O car.


Two things about government regulation of such a car:

1: You're YEARS away from having to worry about that

2: Don't listen to what people are telling you about how those regulations are set up. Most of them have NO CLUE what the regulations are, much less how they're enforced. The government doesn't "make money" on the current batch of safety and smog regs. It actually costs them money to develop, maintain and administer the testing standards.

Gate I did think of seawater. I believe it could be used. it would just depend if it could be sprayed through something similar to a fuel injector, if it could then it will work. If not you would need to remove the salt from the water.

Thanks for the tips on regulating, I mean I've heard of things being done etc. But my question is do you think, if the structure of the body is fine and all that is done is the engine is removed, but body remains unchanged, could it still be inspected? I know it sounds stupid but atleast in my state they make sure it can be inspected by having a cat... but if theres no exhaust? lol whats the point?

oh and theres no pollutants from this design being theres no smoke etc. Might not be the worlds fastest car but definately the no gas car, well maybe 5 gallons per 100 miles? (thinking of a little 1 hp engine for something )

If you completely replace the engine and drivetrain with something custom built that is also not a gasoline or diesel powerplant, you can probably get in under a kit car type law. You'll need to check your local regulations for the specifics, but at least here in Michigan you just need to prove that you built the car yourself. An alternative fuel propulsion system should satisfy this requirement, even if the body of the car is an otherwise normal production vehicle.

Just make sure you document the project very well. Things like receipts and pictures and a build log, for when the confused government lackey starts asking questions. If you can find someone locally who as built a solar powered and/or full electric car, they can probably help you out as well.

Finished the mock up last night at like 3am haha.

Tested it today after work, first time didnt work broke it. second time i tested it OOOOOOO YEA! thing took off like a bat outta hell haha. Now its time to move onto the bigger picture, convert a real car. Wish me luck, never know if I make it big I might buy 3si and ban the newbies haha.
