Thanks guys.

It's not the shops problem. This has been around for a while now I believe. The volts drop once you go WOT. The batt is fine as far as I don't need to jump start as it is holding charge, but ONLY because I'm running 5 psi and nothing more. And a fyi, if I want to buy a new alt, it's going to be around the $300 - $400 mark. Or maybe I will have mine rebuilt. And yes Coop, I will install myself. ;)

Great news! Hopefully there won't be too many little bugs like this alternator deal.

 @ the cramp and stalling it.

I had to buy one for my car two years ago. I got a remanufactured unit for $140 I think. Might have been $170. I don't remember.

Honestly, I'd just exchange it for a reman unit. They re-use the parts that don't wear out, and replace things like the copper windings and voltage regulator. It'll be as good as new.

Is there nowhere you can take your alternator to have it rebuilt?

Congrats on getting your car back.

I think I'll do that. I'll be going to get it checked out tomorrow. This no boost is starting to irritate me already.
