Pretty Impressive?

At least I think so, almost 1k HP is pretty nifty. Did Nelson even break that? I've been out of the loop for a bit, so I wouldn't know.
But still pretty nifty on the 3.0, and I use that term loosely.

Re: Pretty Impressive?
You know how much drama that thread can generate. One statement "3SX's Dyno" thats is a key element to drama all over 3SI. Nelson didnt ever post up another Dyno, that I know of, after that one where it walked the dyno. Personally I think Nelsons car could probably push well over 1000hp if it could stay on a dyno and they went balls to the wall with it. Nelson has the money to do so, dont know why he hasnt yet.

Re: Pretty Impressive?
The power output is interesting, but largely academic. The dyno and the real world are two very different things.
Also, I find it pathetic that they're supposedly making all this power, but they're still in the mid-low 9 second range. I've seen Grand Nationals making another 20 horsepower yet running almost 2 seconds faster.
What good as all that horsepower if you can't actually USE it? It's like having a 12" penis. Sure, it's fun to brag about....but what can you actually DO with it?

In short I agree, but the numbers are pretty impressive for the setup they're running. Something tells me though that they don't use their own products
Its interesting to see their car compared to Matt's who is knocking on the 9 sec barrier, wonder how much power hes making or if its just the driver. (Probably just the driver).

Still makes no sense to me how Matt who is running smaller turbos, 720cc injectors, and a piggyback fuel system with less horsepower and no nitrous and is still running faster times.

Well 3SX would answer it all has to do with the 3.7l engine and that you cant make comparisons because they are running a more stock styled set up. BLAH BLAH BLAH. We have all seen these threads a dozen times before and can easily predict the drama that will come out of them.

Larger engine + smaller turbos = faster spool.
Faster spool = longer powerband.
Longer power band + Matt M = car always under boost.
Car with more time at full boost = faster car.
Thats my simple way of looking at it.

Let me simplify the equation Matt M + 3/S = Faster car.

Or as Matt himself says, "you can carefully chose the right parts and build it to go fast, or throw so much money at it until it has no choice but to go fast"
Re: Pretty Impressive?
I'd be willing to bet the Matt's car is making more power than 3SX's and I don't think that the turbo's on that car a that much smaller than the one's on 3SX's either.

I disagree. It's making less power, but it's doing it longer.

Let us not forget that some of that horsepower is contained within a bottle.

Last I checked, 3sx has to work with a 5'6" penis.

Didn't Matt just release dyno results that shows his car is in the 800awhp range? I want to say it was 805 or 812 awhp.
EDIT: Just saw Auggie's thread on this. Yup, Matt Dynoed 818awhp with his 9.05 1/4 boost setting. He then jacked it up to make over 900awhp. That's pretty impressive that he can run a few tenths less in the quarter with (supposedly) ~175 less horsepower.
