GIECO...

Post by SAgosto »

Fairly low coverage. No accidents/tickets for nearly 1 decade. 29 year old male

$94.75 per month albany 2 cars with $500 deductible driving about 3.5K per year

$200 per month Yonkers, NY 1 car $500 deductible and 1 car no collision driving less than 2K per year

I pay what per mile? $1+? In the amount of time I drive to the store and back, I could have gotten a pucking hooker! I never really calculated it but we are being fisted by insurance companies. Let me tell you that those snazy commercials are just bullshit.

I think I spelled GIECO wrong. I don't give a puck. Too tired.

I am going to get pucked up. Auggie. OUT!

Car insurance is a government mandated racket.
"Pay us, or the government says you're not allowed to drive."

And when you do get in an accident? Well, all that money you've paid them in the past apparently means nothing because they raise your rates anyway. It's so bad that some companies offer that "Accident Forgiveness", where they won't raise your rates because of an accident. They make it sound like they're doing something good for us! WTF! And people fall for it.
I pay them $100 a month, but MY rates go UP to $120 a month because some asshole ran a redlight and hit me? bullshit.

yeah...insurance infuriates me.

$200 per month is pretty outrageous. I paid less than that when I was 16. Maybe its time to consider shopping other agents, or maybe raise your deductible?

I also just saved a bunch of $$ on my car insurance by switching to GEICO. I was paying $240 a month thru State Farm. I liked SF because they would cover all of my aftermarket parts. However, the 98 is 100% stock and it seemed foolish of me to pay such a rediculous monthy premium so I switched to Geico.

Now my payments are $78 for the same coverage. :)

How the hell do you get $130/month full coverage? You get in more accidents than anyone I've ever known! :D

Shit, I'm paying $130/month just for liability. I couldn't afford full coverage! I haven't had a ticket in 3 years and haven't been in an accident for about 6 or 7!
Yet every company I talk to tells me I'd have to pay about $250/month full coverage for my Stealth and another $350/month full coverage for the Spyder.
WTF?
It's not like I live in NYC or something..I live in Hanover for cryin' out loud..it's farm country!
What..are they worried I'm going to get hit by a stray cow? Or a cornstalk with a grudge?

Sounds like another reason why NYC sucks ;)

$105/mo for '70 Dodge Challenger, '96 Protege and '00 Motorcycle, about 10k miles/year on the policy, but I only drive about 4k miles these days.

$143/mo for my Z06, '70 Challenger, and bike and the same 10k miles. Both of these were with full coverage, $250 deductible and 5x the standard coverage.

27yo, no accidents in past 8 years, no tickets in past...8 years or so.

I don't know how I got it, I called Progressive later and their quote was like $300's/mo for full. I did have 3 years of a registered motorcycle on the street and no "motorcycle accidents" in that time. :D ;)

NYC is the greatest city within the greatest state on Earth. Period. Cali is straight up shit. Any state that has people that cannot convict Phil S and OJ should be blown up. :)

Yes, it's expensive. I'll deal with that. I'll deal with the other BS but I find it ridiculous when I pay over $1 a mile to drive my car. It sits in a driveway 5-6 days a week.

Heh $50/month with raised coverage and gf added as driver through Geico. They quoted me $127.50/month for the Triumph but I went with State Farm on that since they were cheaper.

It's cool...we don't need any more people. In fact, the more people I can get out of this state, the easier it is for me to enjoy paradise :)

NYC > LA as far as I'm concerned (and I'm born and raised in LA), but San Diego is way better than NYC in almost every aspect.

With that, I think I'll go throw another log on the fire...getting kinda cold out here, 57 degrees tonight
