Awesome. Gotta love it when these big beasts decide to show what they can do. I always underestimate mine. I rarely go over half throttle in the car and it still amazes me what it can do. You do have to watch it with those stock clutches. mine had 20k on the stock clutch when I got it. A dozen or so slips from 5k for some fun launches and hard ass pulls after going BPU is all it took to eat that thing up. Last launch was racing a camaro, I knew when I left the light and he was next to me that the clutch was toast. I won by maybe a nose. After driving through city traffic for 20 minutes it took the car going at 4500 rpm's without my foot on the clutch just to get it up my driveway.

My most recent....

Saturday, working a job in Branson. I pull to the light to turn onto the highway. I have a modified 350z pull up behind me, no more than 30 seconds ago he was in the turn lane for the opposite direction. He starts taching up. I dont know what was under the hood but there was clearly a fmic in the bumper, a large aluminum spoiler on the ass, custom paint, a shit ton of stickers on the front quarter panel, Florida US Army plates and a big ass smile all staring at me in my rear view. Knowing what I know I knew I had a slim chance... so what the hell.

I turn onto the ramp, hit the ecs so i can hold the corner a little tighter and slowly throttle up. Hit second and pull onto the highway pushing about 75% throttle..... holy shit she fucking pulled hard with the cold fall air. I know my engine and a quick glance confirms my rpms at 6k so I shift to third and go WOT... I look quickly and see the speedo sitting at 120, quick check and the z is right behind in the other lane. Still WOT and pop, forgot to adjust my boost controller for the cold air. I hit fuel cut but my reaction was quick, the car doesnt die or loose power at all. I clutch in and roll. The second I got off the gas the z passes me like a bat out of hell. I shift to 4th and stomp back down, I go to 145 and catch back up to him. Give him a thumbs up for a fun ass run and drop in behind him. I noticed a radar detector so I am going to use him as my eyes for the drive home. We roll through traffic at 95 the entire way back. We get to Springfield, I hit the blinker, he tosses a wave and we go our separate ways.

I just cant wait to go past BPU with my baby. Everytime I have a stash built up for mods I end up putting it in the engine for reliability. I guess this is why my DD VR-4 has never left me stranded. She gets almost a grand in new oem or better parts every year.

Meh, stock clutches work great for stock cars if you don't slip them too much. Once you add 50+hp from bpu stuff, then they get a little under achieved.

To be honest though, you kinda want the clutch to be the weak point instead of something else in the drive line like the tranny bell housing or the output shaft...

Most the people in my office have ridden in my car. They think I'm a nut behind the wheel with how I drive.

I sit back and realize, I know people like you, this is normal.
