NG08 Announcement - NEW Addition to the Festivities
It has been said already... NG08 will add an extra day to the event. This year, the event will begin on Tuesday and go through until Sunday morning. But.. No one has bothered asking why.
So... Here it is. We're adding a NEW event to the program!
First, our photographer, Keith (Mobo) will be taking photos at various shoots on Wednesday and possibly Tuesday as well.
Second... I've heard so many of you talk about wanting to do this, but it just isn't real practical to travel to a facility and pay for the travel, hotel, etc. and pay for the experience, so... We're adding a DRIVING SCHOOL for Wednesday!! That's right - Race On will host a driving school on Wednesday, June 18th for any of you interested in learning to drive your cars better.
We've also worked out a special price for this event. The event registration will begin at 7:15am at the track. The final run is done at 5:25pm. Lunch is included. Total cost of the deal? $300. This will include all classroom sessions and track time for the day. We're limited to only 25 spots for this event, so make sure you're watching when registration begins.
Oh... One last thing... Did I mention that you might want to watch for registration to open? It's coming SOON! I expect to make the announcement this week!
Bah. Always opening registration around Christmas time when all my money is allotted to more important things (like friends and family).
The driving school sounds cool, though.

I'm psyched. I've already got the vacation time scheduled. The driving school looks really tempting too.

blah blah blah... Piss and moan. Can't please everyone.
Change to the rules this year, though. You can register when it opens, then you can hold that registration all the way up until early registration ends without it getting cancelled. Early registration will end March 1. It used to get cancelled two weeks after you made it, then you got charged another $20 to re-register.

That's helpful. Thanks Lori.

Re: NG08 Announcement - NEW Addition to the Festivities
I'm really trying to make this easy for everyone... If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to let me know. I've made many, many other changes, too. I think everyone will be pleased. We want this to be the biggest and best NG ever, with no hassle and no huge issues. I think we've done what we can to insure that, but let me know if you see any problems... I'm definitely not a person who will get upset if you give constructive criticism or suggestions. This is a huge undertaking (not a complaint AT ALL, just a fact), so I'm always happy to have other people thinking for me when my mind is somewhere else.
Also... Believe me, starting registration around the holidays isn't my first choice, either. It just needs to be... Remember - I run a retail business, work in a retail business, AND celebrate Christmas. Oh... And run NG. So I feel the same way you guys do. Lots have been begging for registration to start, and there are those who don't want it around the holidays, too. So this way we accomodate everyone.

Re: NG08 Announcement - NEW Addition to the Festivities
With the change to the payment option, registration at this time is perfectly fine. You removed my only real gripe which was making sure to have all cash on hand at the time of registering.
Thank you, Lori.
And I dig the drivers school. I'm real tempted to do that as I'm starting to get jaded by the drag strip. Taking my car around a road course with someone that knows what they are doing is becoming more and more appealing to me.

Holiday registration seems to make sense to me. That's Xmas bonus time.
